Public Interest Law Clinic retained as legal counsel for environmental group

Clinic will work with Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society in an upcoming federal environmental assessment hearing.

The Public Interest Law Clinic has been retained as legal counsel for the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society in the upcoming federal environmental assessment hearing for the proposed Teck Frontier Oil Sands Mine. If approved, the Teck mine will be the largest oil sands mine built to date and it is also in the closest proximity to Wood Buffalo National Park. CPAWS believes the Teck mine will cause significant adverse impacts to the Park and irreversibly damage its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
