Celebrating 10 Years of MLA: Public Lecture | Friday, November 7 | 5:30 - 7:30 PM (MT)
Join us for this public lecture - the opening event in our 10th anniversary celebration of the Master of Landscape Architecture program. This is the first in a series of events designed to showcase a decade of innovation, creativity, and impact. The evening will feature a compelling talk by Dr. Andreas Linsbauer from the University of Zurich, who will explore how glaciers serve as visible indicators of climate change. In this image-rich presentation, he will illustrate the impact of glacier retreat on water resources, tourism, and natural hazards, encouraging reflection and dialogue on climate action.
Master of Design Research
SAPL's Master of Environmental Design (MEDes) program is now officially called the Master of Design Research (MDR). The new name reflects the post-professional, thesis-based nature of the program and its alignment with design-focused research across architecture, planning, and landscape architecture.
A research-intensive, thesis-based master’s degree for recent graduates of professional architecture, planning, or landscape architecture programs who want to extend their education to explore an area of expertise or practice specialization that will build their CV, increase their value to prospective employers, and accelerate their career objectives.

Doctor of Design

The Doctor of Design is a unique three-year degree that allows mid-career and established architects, planners, and landscape architects to continue working in their professional practice, while leveraging their expertise in a specific research area into solutions with real-world impact. Through this research framework, students identify and develop innovations that make ideas 'project-ready' for integration into practice and continue to elevate their career. Join us to learn more about the program structure, requirements, and student experience.
