Leave of Absence Period

Regular (12 months)

You will NOT register in any UCalgary courses for a 12-month period (includes spring/summer semesters). You will be taking at least one UCalgary course by the 13th month.

Extended (13+ months)

You will NOT register in any UCalgary courses for a consecutive period of 13 months or more (includes spring/summer semesters).

Leave of Absence Start

The start of your Leave of Absence is the first day of the first semester you stop taking any UCalgary classes. Please check with your SAPL advisor if you are unsure what day this is.

Leave of Absence End

Please indicate the last day of your Leave of Absence, with the assumption you will be enrolled into a UCalgary course by the next day. If you are unsure what date to put, please contact a SAPL advisor for support.

Reason for Leaving

I understand that taking a leave of absence will delay my degree progression.

I understand that important updates will only be sent to my UCalgary email address and that it is my responsibility to stay on track with ongoing UCalgary deadlines.

I understand that taking a leave of absence beyond the 12-month period without prior SAPL approval can result in being discontinued from the BDCI program.

I understand that if I am discontinued from my program due to an unauthorized leave of absence, I will need to reapply for admission.

I understand that while on my Leave of Absence, I must have an approved Letter of Permission prior to taking postsecondary courses outside of UCalgary.
