Meet the CISA Team

Chloe is a fourth-year BDCI student and the current President of the City Innovation Students’ Association, guiding the associations’ overall vision and supporting different student initiatives to foster strong community and culture. Born and raised in Kelowna, B.C., Chloe brings her curiosity and passions of anti-oppressive practice and intersectional feminism into her leadership and design work. You can often find her engaged in a new research project, trying out random hobbies, or open to chat and lend a hand in the CISA Office.

Mikayla O’Brien is a third year Bachelor of Design in City Innovation (BDCI) student who is interested in place-making and student advocacy. She currently serves as the Vice President Academic for the City Innovation Students’ Association. As VP Academic, she is dedicated to strengthening faculty-student relationships while providing a supportive and responsive environment where students' concerns are heard and met with proper solutions. She has previously served as a Class Representative and has a passion for supporting and strengthening the academic environment. In her free time she enjoys painting, crafting, and hiking. 

Sean Cadawan is a second year Bachelor of Design in City Innovation (BDCI)  student with a strong interest in architecture, design and exploring different creative fields. He currently serves as the Vice President of Events for CISA, where he hopes to create memorable experiences that bring students together beyond the classroom. Through social events, networking opportunities, and new experiences, Sean aims to strengthen the BDCI community and give students more opportunities to connect, explore their interests, and make the most of their university experience. Outside of school, Sean enjoys travelling, going to the gym and golf.

Wyatt Nash is a third year BDCI student, currently serving as Vice President Communications following two years as a Class Representative. Wyatt has a long history with student government, and is passionate about voicing student needs to professors and faculty. His work with the Center for Civilization as an undergraduate researcher has allowed him to explore how to design a more equitable public realm. Born and raised in Calgary, Wyatt is excited to continue working towards a more sustainable and accessible city through design. In his spare time, Wyatt can be found outside, hiking or bouldering.

Julia Law is a third year BDCI student who is interested in urban planning and municipal governance. She is currently serving as the Vice President Operations for CISA, following a handful of other student leadership roles, including Vice President External for the University of Calgary Students’ Union. Julia has a passion for stakeholder engagement and organizational structures, helping to ensure decisions are informed and systems respond to user needs. Outside of the world of student politics and university studies, Julia likes to write trivia rounds, play video games, and attend live music events.

Audrey McLean is a third-year BDCI student, Vice President Students’ Union Representative with CISA, and Faculty Representative for the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape within the University’s Students’ Union. Growing up in Kamloops, B.C., Audrey has developed a deep passion for sustainable and ecological design practices, one that continues to shape how she approaches her work today. As Faculty Representative, Audrey is dedicated to making sure SAPL students’ voices are heard, from advocating on fees and campus resources to representing their interests at the university level. She believes good design and good governance share the same starting point: listening closely to the people you’re serving.
