SAPL Spotlight Week

SAPL Spotlight Week

Join us for virtual and in-person experiences - see the facilities, hear from faculty members, and get a glimpse of the student experience as they prepare for the Year End Show.

Welcome to Spotlight Week

The School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape offers a distinctly different design school experience focusing on interdisciplinary design-based philosophy, entrepreneurship, and working with industry partners. Students build, prototype, and collaborate to address growing challenges in the built environment, creating safe neighbourhoods, interactive public spaces, green areas, and accessible transportation.

Join us during Spotlight Week to learn more about the professional programs, see the SAPL facilities, and meet the Recruitment + Admissions team for on-the-spot advising sessions. To get started, follow SAPL on Instagram (@ucalgarysapl) for virtual tours, behind the scenes of how students prepare for final reviews, and a glimpse of the Year End Show!

Schedule

Kick off the week by meeting the Dean and hearing from Faculty Members for an introduction to the School, programs, and upcoming projects!

Tour the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the University of Calgary to see classrooms, the Stantec Gallery, the workshop (including woodworking spaces, 3D printing, CNC machine, robotics), studio spaces, and the student lounge!

The Admissions + Recruitment team will be available afterwards to answer application questions.

Go behind the scenes with students as they set up for final reviews and the Year End Show. There will also be a Live Q+A at 1PM MT, so make sure to bring your questions!

You’re invited to join us at the City Building Design Lab (Downtown SAPL Campus) for the Year End Show (YES), an exhibition and public celebration of student accomplishments in architecture, planning, and landscape architecture, showcasing work that pushes the boundaries of imagination and design.

Can't make it in person? Join us on Instagram for some live streamed content!

City Building Design Lab

The City Building Design Lab (CBDLab) is a collaborative hub in the heart of downtown Calgary, allowing SAPL to partner with surrounding municipal, community and creative organizations.

The University of Calgary is training the next generation of city builders. Students across every faculty are learning how to help create great communities. It also means creating a future that is environmentally sustainable, socially equitable, and infectious disease resilient. Across the campus, researchers working to impact the future and empowering students to reach higher.
