Calling UCalgary community members, students, faculty, staff and alumni: Help make fall convocation a memorable experience for new graduands and their families

Each fall, the University of Calgary holds convocation ceremonies to celebrate the hard work and achievements of its graduating students

Convocation is one of the most meaningful traditions at university, marking the culmination of years of dedication and learning, and celebrating the transformative journey of our students into graduates. To make this possible, we rely on the university community to get involved and take on various roles during convocation to support our graduating students and their guests.

The fall ceremonies will take place Nov. 12–13 in the Jack Simpson Gymnasium during the fall term break. We will need helpers for the morning and afternoon ceremonies on Wednesday, Nov. 12, followed by a morning ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 13.

We would greatly appreciate your support to make this experience for our graduands and their guests unforgettable. You can sign up to support your favourite faculty, graduand or take part throughout the entirety of convocation if you want!

Many roles and shifts are available, including ushers, pinners, degree framers and more, as well as different shifts. Complementary refreshments will be provided.

If you are UCalgary staff, please ensure you have the support of your manager before you sign up to help.

Students, staff and faculty can sign up for a shift via the convocation support Better Impact portal.

Alumni can sign up for a shift via the UCalgary Alumni Better Impact portal.
