We're hiring an Assistant Professor

UCalgary Law is seeking scholars whose research and teaching interests include criminal law and the law of evidence.

The University of Calgary's Faculty of Law is in the midst of a sustained period of growth and renewal. In its Strategic plan - Energy.Innovation.Impact. UCalgary Law set itself the dual goals of enhancing its international eminence in the areas of energy, environmental and natural resources law and continuing its position of national leadership in the area of experiential learning. Since 2011, we have made nineteen new Faculty appointments, and we are looking to make further appointments to begin in 2019 and in years to follow.

The Faculty of Law invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2019. In particular, we are seeking scholars whose research and teaching interests include criminal law and the law of evidence.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the core JD program and also, if appropriate, to be involved in the graduate programs. They must demonstrate the desire and potential to initiate and produce high-impact research and scholarship, as well as the ability to develop into a strong and fully-committed member of the University community. An active research agenda is expected of all members of Faculty, and peer-reviewed external research funding is required.
